Projects

Bushfires and Our Biosphere

This project assisted in preparing youth with an increased understanding of fire behaviour in our community.

Oyster Reef Restoration

In collaboration with The Nature Conservancy (TNC), the Noosa EE Hub has created a Marine Science based curriculum for Year 10-12. The curriculum supports the work being undertaken by TNC in the Noosa River to restore important oyster ecosystems.

Noosa Youth Advocacy Group

The Noosa Youth Advocacy Group is proudly developed and facilitated by the Noosa Environmental Education Hub to provide our regions youth with a voice on the issues that mean most to them.

The Noosa Environmental Education Hub teaches essential curriculum by engaging students in real life projects specific to their local area. We develop and deliver eco education activities that are relevant to the ecosystems that support existence on the Sunshine Coast.

Our BioCultural programs stem from Intergenerational and Inter Cultural Learning in collaboration with local environmental groups and Aboriginal Educators. We were awarded the Noosa Biosphere Reserve Foundation Award for People & Economy in 2021 as a result of this work.

Wonders of the Wallum

The Noosa Environmental Education Hub has been exploring the Wonders of the Wallum with students from the region through all the projects we run. The Wallum Woodland is a very special ecosystem unique to our region. We are delighted to help grow the interest in the preservation and restoration of this incredible ecosystem along with our environmental friends and community members.
